Joycelyn Landrum-Brown received her doctorate in Clinical psychology (Ph.D.) in 1984 from Michigan State University. She has worked with PIR since February 1998. Joycelyn has been involved with diversity and cultural awareness training since 1981. She has also served as a staff psychologist at several universities prior to her employment at UCSB where she ran the Educational Program for Cultural Awareness and taught in the Graduate School of Education and Black Studies. As part of her responsibilities for PIR she teaches classes in Educational Psychology, Psychology and Educational Organization and Leadership departments. She has been involved in consulting with several school districts on diversity and social justice issues. In addition, she has a passion for computer technology, graphics and web design, and is continuously looking for ways to integrate technology with diversity and social justice training strategies. For fun, Joycelyn loves to read, draw, sew and scrapbook when she finds the time in her busy schedule. |

Joseph Douglas Minarik has been a social worker for more than 20 years, with experience including refugee resettlement, community mental health center crisis counseling, anti-violence program facilitation and training, and directing the Columbus, Ohio YWCA Anti-racism and Race Relations Project. While completing Masters degrees in Public Policy and Social Work at the University of Michigan, he worked with Michigan’s Program on Intergroup Relations (IGR) as co-instructor of undergraduate facilitator training and practicum courses. In addition to his passion for anti-oppression and social justice training, Joe is interested in the role of strategic planning in promoting institutional change, and has received awards for developing plans aimed at racial justice and increasing accessibility for people with disabilities. His current aspirations include developing a policy advocacy program for community groups to promote greater participation in the public policy process. |
